The site behind the game
About Wonderhop
Wonderhop is a free daily game about human instincts, made by a small independent team. This page explains what the site is, how each daily board is built, how the answer percentages are estimated, and the privacy and terms that come with playing.
What Wonderhop is
Wonderhop is a free browser game at wonderhop.online. Every day it asks seven questions, and gives you four different ways to answer them. Sky wants the most common answer, Abyss the rarest, Past the oldest and Future the newest. You type freely, the game scores your answer against a ranked list, and the reveal shows you where you landed. No download, no account, no ads.
A game takes two or three minutes. A full day — all four modes — scores out of 2,800 and usually takes under fifteen. The point is not to grind a ladder; it is to feel the small, pleasant shock of discovering that other people answered something completely differently from you.
How Wonderhop is made
Wonderhop is deliberately old-fashioned under the hood. Every daily board for the season is generated in advance from original question banks and shipped as a tiny static file. There is no server, no database and no nightly job: your browser works out the date and fetches that day's board from the site itself. That is why the game loads instantly and behaves the same on a phone, a laptop or a slow train connection.
Each question is written and checked by a person before it ships. Prompts are aimed at a general audience, hints nudge without giving answers away, and the reveal's wonder fact is verified rather than guessed. The same care goes into the accepted answer list, which is what makes typing an answer feel fair.
How the answer percentages are estimated
The number beside an answer in Sky or Abyss is an estimate of how many people would give that answer. Every survey question ships with a ranked list of plausible answers and an estimated share for each. The shares are curated in advance — they are not collected live from other players, and they are not a scientific poll.
That design choice is what lets the game stay instant and offline-friendly, and what makes scoring stable: the most common answer on a given day is the same for everyone, forever. The dated board uses years rather than percentages, and those years are checked for accuracy when the question is written. If a percentage ever feels plainly wrong, tell us and we will look again.
Free, no ads, no account
Wonderhop is free to play. There are no ads, no paid tiers, no "premium archive" and nothing to sign up for. The daily board, the hints, the share card, the statistics and the archive are all part of the same free game. You play against the world's instincts, not against an advertising profile.
Privacy
Wonderhop does not have accounts and does not build a profile of you. Your progress, streak, statistics, badges and settings are saved in your browser's local storage, on your device. They are never sent to a server, because there is no server to send them to. Wonderhop uses Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) and Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate traffic. There is no advertising and no account system. Clearing your browser data resets your Wonderhop progress, streak and statistics — that is the trade-off for keeping everything local.

Terms
Wonderhop is provided free, as-is, for personal entertainment. The team works hard to keep the game available and accurate, but no warranty is given: the site may change, pause or contain mistakes, and it is not liable for losses arising from use of the game or from decisions made with it. Percentages are estimates, not measurements, and timeline years are checked but not infallible. Wonderhop is an independent site and is not affiliated with any other game, publisher or brand.
Please play fair: do not attempt to disrupt the site, and do not republish the full question banks commercially. Reading a page, sharing a score and printing a question list for game night are all fine. Using the site means accepting these terms.

Wonderhop: frequently asked questions
Is Wonderhop really free?
Yes. Wonderhop is free to play, with no ads, no paid tiers and no account requirement. The daily boards, hints and archive are all included.
Does Wonderhop collect personal data?
No account is needed. Wonderhop uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, and Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate traffic and page usefulness. Neither is used for advertising, and your progress, streak, statistics and settings are stored locally in your browser.
How accurate are the answer percentages?
They are careful panel estimates, not live polling. Each popularity question is written with a ranked list of likely answers and an estimated share for every answer; timeline questions attach a year to each answer instead. The order is what scores, and it is stable by design.
How do I report a wrong fact or a bug?
Email hello@wonderhop.online with the question, the mode and what looks wrong. Reports about inaccurate facts, unfair accepted answers and technical bugs are all welcome and read by the team.
